Olivet Playground Project

The Olivet Playground Project started in January of 2007. Memorial Park in downtown Olivet was choosen as the ideal location. Our project began with finding a playground design firm to assist us. Leathers & Associates was the ideal firm to work with as they have assisted many of our surrounding communities.

Design Day was on June 5th 2007 at Fern Person Elementary. The 400+ students gathered in large brainstorming sessions to give our designer all of the grandest ideas of what they wanted in their playground. From their imaginations came our one of a kind playground that is handicapped accessible. Their ideas ranged from castles and swings, to water slides and ponies.

The playground will exceed all safety codes and standards and will withstand 30 years of exciting use.

We are currently working on raising the necessary funds to accomplish our goal, which is $120,000. Please go to volunteer or make a donation to find out how you can help.

Our goal is to build this playground in May 2008. This will be a community barn raising event that will involve hundreds of volunteers. All ages and abilites can participate in this event, we can't wait to see you there!
